PROFILE

UK qualified lawyer with several years’ experience in various areas of law, most recently a senior lawyer in local government practising in the areas of procurement and commercial contracts. Excellent written and oral communication skills with a track record of providing complex legal advice to consultants and officers at all levels. Regular use of IT to draft and update documents. Management experience having managed a small team of permanent and temporary lawyers and legal officers.

I have now re-located to Anchorage and am seeking employment, if possible in legal and/or procurement related fields. I am however prepared to be flexible with regards to the area of work I go into.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

London Borough of Bexley, UK (August 2007 – June 2011)

Senior Contracts Lawyer: Contracts, Procurement, Commercial and Corporate Law.

· Lead advisor in competitive dialogue procurement process to procure developer partner for new civic offices.

· Lead advisor in the Council’s waste management procurement exercise, during which I worked with and provided legal and procurement advice to the multi disciplinary project team.

· Advice upon and drafting of commercial framework agreements and related partnership agreements; drafting of terms and conditions for grant funding agreements and service level agreements.

· Expertise in EU procurement processes and outsourcing projects, preparation of tender documentation including tenders and specifications; contract negotiation; drafting and advising on terms and conditions of contract; advising in respect of contract disputes and project management.

· Expertise in working with senior management to identify and minimise legal and risk; advising and supporting senior management towards successful procurement.

· Analysing, drafting and advising in respect of a wide range of multi million commercial contracts including software licence agreements, software maintenance agreements, network and telephony contracts, event management, waste management, (recycling, street services, residual waste), disability equipment contracts, (service and maintenance), Connexions etc.

· Developing and managing effective working relationships with consultants, senior management and departmental teams.

· Advice provided on all aspects of public procurement projects and related corporate law including EU Procurement law, Corporate Governance, Public law, Transfer for Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE), non-contentious commercial negotiations.

· Provide legal advice on the procurement effects of the Remedies Directives.

· Assisted in drafting and keeping under review standard legal agreements including drafting bespoke agreements and precedents to assist client departments to streamline and standardise project documents.

· General file management to ensure Lexcel compliance.

· Preparation and drafting of reports to Council Members and the Council Leader on contracts and procurement related matters.
