5. Предлог of
Предлог of может означать принадлежность объектов и вещей.
The title of the book is short. ¾ Название книги короткое.
The legs of the table are round. ¾ Ножки стола ¾ круглые.
He is a friend of my mother. ¾ Он друг моей матери.
Предлог of может также употребляться с притяжательными формами местоимений и существительных.
He is a friend of Mary's. ¾ Он друг Мэри.
He is a friend of mine. ¾ Он мой друг.
Предлог of может означать количество или качество.
Jack is a boy of thirteen. ¾ Джек ¾ мальчик тринадцати лет (шестнадцатилетний).
She is a woman of great beauty. ¾ Она женщина большой красоты (очень красивая).
Please, give me a cup of tea. ¾ Пожалуйста, дайте мне чашку кофе.
