Job Types: Kitchen Help; Cashier.

Job Descriptions:

 

Kitchen Help: make pizza, salads, subs, and prepare food; make dough; clean dishes and restaurant; and general work in restaurant.

 

Cashier: answer phones, take orders, assist customers at front counter; quality check orders; assist delivery drivers; make pizza.

Work Dates:

 

Arrival Dates: May 15th to June 15th ; (3 or 4 arrivals per week)

Work Finish Dates: August 15th to September 15th

 

Male/Female, Couples, Friend Groups: 5 male students, 10 female students; couples ok; friend groups ok.

Salary:

 

Kitchen Help: $7.25-$7.75 per hour

Cashier: $8.00-$8.50 per hour

 

Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.

 

Housing Information: Employer assists students in locating housing less than 2km from the job site, $50 to $75 per week. Myrtle Beach is a seasonal resort town, and there are many options for seasonal housing, students have the option to arrange their own housing in advance of arrival.

 

Local Transportation: Myrtle Beach area has a system of inexpensive public buses.

 

Uniform: Provided by employer.

Area Description: Myrtle Beach area, also known as the Grand Strand, stretches for almost sixty miles along the northern South Carolina coast. This area has become one of the top vacation, convention, wedding, and honeymoon destinations in the United States with over 14 million visitors per year. Myrtle Beach is home for a number of award winning cultural festivals, which are free and take place in the summer. The area is famous for its live-theatre entertainment offering the best shows, music, dance, comedy, dinner theater, celebrity concerts, and movies.

Cultural Activities/Community Engagement: Before traveling to your employer, you will attend InterExchange orientation in New York City. During your two-night stay in New York you will have the opportunity to explore cultural attractions in the city: the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, the Empire State Building, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the American Museum of Natural History, Central Park and many other interesting sites.

 

Once in Myrtle Beach you will work alongside local Americans at the store, with the opportunity to learn about American culture and share your own. In addition you will interact with customers from all over the United States; 14 million people visit Myrtle Beach every year.

 

On days off you will have the opportunity to enjoy the Myrtle Beach attractions, and travel to nearby cities to learn more about American culture; Washigton, D.C. is about a 7 hour bus ride away.
