The Present Continuous Tense.
Настоящее продолженное время (Present Continuous) обозначает:
1) Действие, происходящее в настоящий момент речи
You are not listening to me now.
2) длительное действие, происходящее в определенный период настоящего времени, но не обязательно в момент речи.
- What are you doing here in Kiev?
- I’m studying at the Institute of Foreign languages.
3) длительное действие, которое происходит одновременно с другим действием, относящимся к настоящему времени.
I am only happy when I am working.
4) будущее действие, если оно запланировано (с глаголами to go, to come, to leave, to start,, to stay etc.).
When are you coming back?
5) to be going to означает намерение выполнить действие в ближайшем будущем.
I am going to speak.
He is going to be a teacher.
6) когда говорим об изменениях.
Is your English getting better?
The population of the world is rising very fast.
7) когда нужно подчеркнуть, что что-то происходит постоянно и это нас раздражает (нам не нравится), мы употребляем слова always, constantly, continually, forever.
They are always having parties until the early hours of the morning.
Некоторые глаголы не употребляются в Continuous. Это глаголы обозначающие чувственное восприятие (to see, to hear), умственную деятельность (to know, to believe, to remember, to understand); желания, чувства (to want, to wish, to like, to love, to dislike, to hate).
Настоящее продолженное время (Present Continuous) образуется при помощи глагола to be в Present Indefinite и – ing формы смыслового глагола.
