23^rd April 2012 14^th International Children’s Festival

Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ministry of National Education Youth and Sports organizes an international festival to celebrate “23^rdApril National Sovereignty and Children’s Day” on annual basis. Children from all over the world are invited to celebrate this day by participating in this festival which will continue throughout one week period. The celebrations of “14^th International Children’s Festival” will be held from 18^th April 2011 through 25^th April 2012. The main aim of this festival is to enable participating children from all over the world to interact with each other. This festival can also be expressed as an annual “cultural meeting” that the children will establish new ties of friendship all over the world. During your one week stay in our country you will not only be participating in the festival but you will also have the opportunity to visit many cultural places in TRNC. Many other recreational and cultural events will also be organized in order to entertain the participants during the festival week. We would like to invite your organization/association for the celebration of this day with us. The conditions of participation to 14^th International Children’s Festival are as follows:

• The participating groups are expected to prepare show for gala program which last 5 min (CD), and

10 - 15 minutes for other shows.

• The participating students will be primary school students between the ages of 7 – 11.
• Participating countries will be responsible of their expenses until they arrive at the borders of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
• In the borders of TRNC, accommodation, food and cost for transfers will be financed by Ministry of National Education Youth and Sports of TRNC.
• You may reach TRNC via plane or ship.
• The participating students will be accommodated with the families of children with the same age group in TRNC.
• Trainers, leaders and musicians will be accommodated at hotel residences.
• The maximum number of participants for each country will be as follows;

13 children, 7 Adults. The total number of participants shall not exceed 20.

• Each group will prepare a traditional show from their country for the cultural meeting night organized on 24^th April 2011. This show can be a song, a dance performance or any cultural and artistic activity.
