Диалог «ИНТЕРВЬЮ С ШАКИРОЙ»

· You are listening to the BBC Music Box with Tom Peters. And now I am talking to Shakira. Good evening, Shakira. How do you do?

· Good evening, Tom. I’m OK.

· You came from Columbia and became a big star in the USA. When did you begin your musical career?

· Well, I wrote my first song at the age of eight. In my childhood I loved singing very much and wanted to become a successful singer.

· Did you play any musical instrument?

· Oh, yes. I learnt to play the guitar when I was 11. I wrote my songs in Spanish, and then set them to music. My songs were played on the radio and it made me a star in Columbia.

· So, you enjoyed a great success in your country. Why did you go to the USA and continue your career there?

· One of my friends suggested me to write songs in English. I tried and wrote some. Then I sang them in my concerts and they were a real success. So, I decided to try my fortune in the USA.

· Your songs are very popular now. How did you manage to get so much success in the USA?

· Oh, with the help of a fine combination of my songs and dancing. My producers made wonderful video-clips of my songs and I found out a talent for dancing.

· You are both a talented singer and dancer. What are your plans for the future?

· Well, now I’m recording my new album in English and I hope it will be as interesting and successful as my previous ones, or even more.

· I wish you good luck and a lot of success in your work. Thank you for the interview. Good -bye.

Thank you. Good- bye.

You: Excuse me, please.

Singer: Oh, yes. What can I do for you?

You: Could you answer my question, please?

Singer: With pleasure.

You: You are very popular in your country and in Russia.

Singer: Thank you.

You: When did you begin interested in singing?

Singer: As far as I remember, when I was a child. First it was a hobby.

You: Do you often give your concerts?

Singer: Yes, I do.

You: What are your plans for future? Are you going to visit Russia someday?

Singer: I hope, I an.

You: Thank you.

Andrew: - Hi, Gwyneth! Guess what? I was in the night club “Last paradise” last night and met Leonardo DiCaprio there.

Gwyneth: - Hello, Andrew. Really? Are you his fan?

Andrew: -Actually, I’m not, but I like his movies. Moreover, I know some people, who could sell their soul to the devil for Leonardo’s autograph. A lot of people pray for the Oscar award for him. Poor thing!

Gwyneth: - What is the deal with people going mad over celebrities? What is the reason of this rage?

Andrew: - Probably, the media are guilty of this glorification. We watch famous people wearing fantastic and expensive clothes on TV. They look great: no heat-spots, no baggy skin below the eyes, no crooked teeth. They always have everything they want: cars, houses, rich and sexy partners. They are described as “gorgeous” and “fabulous” idols. People adore them, because celebrities seem to be impossible ideals.

Gwyneth: - Are you kidding me? Celebrities couldn’t be the role models! More than half of Hollywood takes drugs. Besides, some of them are addicted to alcohol from growing-up years. I have no idea why people got used to give praise to famous people…this is ridiculous.

Andrew: -There is some truth in what you say, but some of Hollywood stars are better, than you suppose they are. Such famous people as Angelina Jolie, Meryl Streep, Matt Damon and Oprah Winfrey are not only good actors and public figures, but they also donate a lot of money, help to poor and sick people, adopt children and care for environment.

Gwyneth: - Sorry, but this is too doubtful. Besides, I suspect that they do it to raise their popularity, only for fame.

Andrew: -Oh, stop it. You are very skeptical. I think that they just want to make this world better and have an opportunity to realize it. They work to attract us, don’t forget about it.

Gwyneth: -Ok. Let’s agree to differ!

· Билет № 15

· Hello, Mary! I haven’t seen you for ages. Where have you been?

· I have just returned from the holidays.

· Really? Where you’ve been?

· To London.

· It sounds very interesting! No doubt, England is a very exciting country. What did you do in England?

· I did a lot of sightseeing, and this is the main thing I did in England.

· What cities did you visit?

· It was difficult to choose but as I was pressed for time, I was lucky to visit London, Cambridge and York.

· I am sure you were having good time in England. What impressed you most of all and why?

· It is difficult to say because England is full of historical monuments and places but most of all I enjoyed the Tower of London. It is over 1000 years old and it used to be a royal palace, a prison, a zoo and now it is a museum.

· I wish I could go to England, too!

· P: Hello! My name is.... I’d like to interview if you don't mind.

T: No. I'll answer your questions with pleasure.

· P: That's very nice of you. You're a very popular foreign singer. I like your songs and I watch the concerts with you very much.

· T: I'm very glad, indeed.:

· P: So, when did you begin your singer career?

· T: It was long ago when 1 was a child of 10.

· P: It's very good. But why did you choose singing not dancing, for example.

· T: I was extremely interested in this style since my childhood. And when 1 sing music makes me

· think of happy days.

· P: I see what you mean. Sure, it's perfect. Moreover, the music has a sentimental, fascinating and

· «ВПЕЧАТЛЕНИЯ ОТ ПОЕЗДКИ В США»

· Hello, Masha!

· Hello, Dasha! Glad to meet you. You look wonderful.

· Thanks.

· Had good holidays?

· Yes, I travelled about the USA.

· Really? What was it like?

· It was great!

· What cities did you visit?

· A lot. New York, Los Angeles, San-Francisco and Washington.

· You are lucky! What city impressed you most?

· Of course, the capital of the USA, Washington. It is one of the most beautiful and unusual cities in the United States.

· Unusual! Why?

· Because the city is very green and you can hardly find a park, a square or an open area in Washington without a monument or a memorial.

· That’s great! Did you take any pictures of your voyage?

· A lot. Come to me at the weekend and I’ll show you them.

· With pleasure, see you on Saturday!

Good-bye, and so long!

· Hello, Peter!

· Hello, Misha! I see that you are playing a mobile game. Don’t you know that it’s no good for you?

· Maybe. But it’s so exciting! I I’m about to win.

· You shouldn’t play on the mobile too long. Do you care of your eyesight?

· Yes, I do. I think the mobile won’t do me any harm.

· You are mistaken. I see no use in them. Playing on devices is harmful for health, it’s of no educational value. Just a waste of time.

· I can’t agree with you. Mobiles have brought us many advantages. The Internet is one of them. You can get there much information in a short time, make a translation and so on.

· And, what? I can find it in a book. I prefer meeting with my friends than surfing the net.

· You can communicate with your friends instantly by email. Moreover you can buy almost anything on the Internet.

· It’s true. But spending your time in the Internet you forget about your study and your future.

· Nothing of the kind! Nowadays any specialist must be a good user.

· That’s right. Why not have a break and play badminton?

· OK. With pleasure!

· Hello Dasha! Are you fond of the cinema?

· OK. I am fond of American films. Most of all I like blockbusters with special effects. And you?

· Well, I’m interested in the first American colour films. My favourite film is “Gone with the Wind”.

· Oh, that famous film is about the Civil War between the North and the South. I like this film, too. And what films do you prefer?

· As for me, my favourite American film is“Jurassic Park”.

· What do you like in this film?

· Of course, special effects. I like the big dinosaurs - they are perfect! They are not real, it’s true. Computers made many models of them and made them alive.

· Yes, American cinema industry develops rapidly. I’ve heard that they have cinemas with a 30 meters screen. Can you imagine this?

· No, I can’t. But I’d like to go to Hollywood some day and to see how they make special effects. What about you?

· Me, too.

· - OK.

T: Nothing special.

P: Let's go to the pictures.

P: I think the best thing is to go and see "The Fate of a Man".

T: I've heard about this film. It's based on Mikhail Sholokhov's story of the same name.

P: Yes, Sergei Bondarchuk is the film director, and he also plays the main role. It's a marvelous film about the deeds of the Soviet people during the war

T: I'd love to see it. What do you think, where shall we buy tickets?

P: I think we'll get them there.

T: Then, I guess we might as well.

Hello guys!

E. Привет, ребята!

S. Oh, hi friend! I didn’t notice you!

С. О, привет друг! Я тебя не заметил!

V. Me either. We’re been involved into the dialog. How are you?

В. Я тоже. Мы увлеклись беседой. Как дела?

E. Fine, thanks. I was looking for you because I wanted to invite you for a new film which is on. It’s a new film «Astral». I think it’s really good.

Е. Хорошо, спасибо. Я искал вас, потому что хотел пригласить вас на новый фильм, который только вышел. Это новый фильм «Астрал». Я думаю, что он действительно хороший.

S. I’m not very fond of horror stories but I’ll accept your invitation. I haven’t been to the cinema for ages. If I don’t like the film, I will definitely enjoy the popcorn and coke.

С. Я не очень люблю ужасы, но я приму твое приглашение. Я сто лет не был в кино. Если не понравится фильм, я буду наслаждаться попкорном и колой.
