1. English film directors follow a different and quite original line. 2. It is regrettable that when the wife of someone running for public office is interviewed, she can’t say what is really on her mind. К сожалению, давая интервью, жена кандидата на государственную должность не имеет возможности высказать то, о чем думает. Долг велит ей использовать в ответах на вопросы о муже, доме и детях одни только стандартные клише, а эмоции держать при себе.

II. Compare the Russian SLTs and English TLTs. Discuss levels of eguivalence achieved in various cases:

3.
