Term	Definition
Alternate General Rule	A live distributed General Rule, which has the same functionalities of other General Rules and is subject to existing FareManager logic. Alt GENs can be used in a category of a contract rule in lieu of Record 3 table numbers.
Coding resource	General term that collectively refers to the contract artifacts, Alt GENs, and source tariff/rules that provide information for the coding of a contract.
Contract	In business terms, a contract is a private fare agreement between a carrier and one of its customers that is usually executed in paper or electronic form. A contract is represented in FareManager Rules as a tariff/carrier/rule, where it is created to match the conditions of the executed agreement.
Contract artifact	Any document or spreadsheet containing information to be extracted by the document reader and included in a contract rule.
Contract Rule	A rule created by the document reader according to instructions received from a carrier.
Instruction	General term for directions that are provided to Volaro for the coding of a contract.
Source tariff/rule	A live distributed rule, which has the same functionalities of other rules and is subject to existing FareManager logic. The Record 2s of a source tariff/rule can be used in a category of a contract rule.
Supplemental Information form	An Excel spreadsheet that lists source tariff/rules and/or Alt GENs whose data will be included in a contract rule.
