Image consultants provide advice to improve their clients’ general appearance, posture and manner. These individuals often shop with or for their clients, choosing the right colours and fashion styles. Both men and women use image consultants. Estheticians are skin specialists. They do facials and other skin treatments. Often, an esthetician will work with a special line of products and will also work to sell products to the client. Estheticians also specialize in removing unwanted hair by waxing. Women use this service most, but there are a growing number of men who also have facials.
Electrologists remove unwanted hair. They use specialized electrical equipment to remove hair permanently.
Manicurists and pedicurists clean, shape and polish fingernails and toenails. Many pedicures also include massage and the removal of calluses, or dead skin.
