Most people think that winter is the spell of severe frosty weather and everybody has to stay at home and try to keep warm. Yes, I know it is the season of snowstorms, and of ice, of frozen rivers and ponds, and of slippery streets. But winter holidays make anything jolly and glorious. Let’s think about the skating on the ice or skiing in the country, sledging or tobogganing. What else? We can make snowmen, building snowhuts and pelting one another with snowballs.
To me, winter has its own interest and beauty. If you do not like being outside when weather is so contrary you can do another things and don’t feel bored to death because there are interesting books, theatres and concerts, and the cinema.
4. Are you sure that one should not put off the outing if one heard the forecast promising unsteadily weather?
I think that one should not put off the outing if one heard the forecast promising unsteadily weather. even in awful weather you can have a good time. Of course, the good weather is one of the components of having a good time, but don’t pay to it much attention. Nature has no the bad weather. Each kind of weather is grace. Really, I think that it is important what kind of people surround you. Even under a pouring rain, you can get unforgettable impressions. Nowadays there are a variety of awnings, tents and I think people shouldn’t worry about weather drawbacks. Of course there are also small houses where you can have a rest.
5. Housing in Great Britain (types of dwelling, housing problems, renting & buying on most gage). Ex. 8 из Фроловой.
Everybody, who have gone to Britain, wonder when they see many building sites and large number of new houses in the suburbs. Majority of these dwellings are two-storey houses. There are terraced houses (built in rows), semi-detached houses (in pairs), and detached houses (singly) with a small enclosed garden. Of course, it is so comfortable to live in a flat because blocks of flats have now become a common feature of the urban scene. But many people prefer to live in bungalows.
But there are some housing problems in Britain. Most of the new residential areas and housing estates have been built on the outskirts of towns and cities but there are large areas of slums in the inner parts of many British industrial cities where people have to live in awful conditions. Despite all the buildings that has taken place there is housing shortage in many parts of Britain. But the essence of the problem is that housing is regarded first as a source of profit and not as a social service.
Families in Britain have three main alternatives: they can rent a house or flat from a private landlord; they may rent a publicly-owned council house or flat; or they can buy a house of their own, usually on a mortgage.
6. Housing conditions in Russia. Prove that houses are built to live in & not to look at.
The overwhelming majority of houses in Russia are five or nine-storey block of flats, detached or semi-detached houses. The housing is regarded as a source of profit for financers. Houses and flats are bought and sold like commodities and rents are very high. To my mind it does not matter what your home is like — a country mansion, a more modest detached or semi-detached house, a flat in a block of flats or even a room in a communal flat. Anyway, it is the place where you once move in and start to furnish and decorate it to your own taste. But therefore let use be preferred before uniformity except both may be had. I think that what is on the outside does not show what is inside. Therefore, even at first glance, a small house can be quite good for housing. As for me, there must be a place for every person in your family, his personal area. There must be a place where you will be able to sit together creating a pleasant atmosphere of warm evening.
