Exercise 586. Rewrite the sentences according to the pattern.

Exercise 587. Ask questions according to the pattern. Substitute any- forms for no- forms.

Model: Nobody can do it at once, (by the evening).

Can anybody do it by the evening?

1. There's nobody here, (in that room). 2. We must go nowhere today, (to­morrow). 3. There's nothing in the box, (in the table). 4. The book is nowhere in the house, (in the garden). 5. No one is ready for the test-paper, (for a dictation). 6. She has got nothing in her hand, (in her pocket). 7. The child has got nobody to play with here, (at home).

 

Exercise 588. Extend sentences of contrast using the given suggestions. Substitute no - forms for some- forms.

Model: There's something on the shelf,... (on the side­board).

There's something on the shelf, but there's nothing on the sideboard.

1. There's something in the box,... (on the table). 2. There's someone in the house,... (in the garden). 3. Father has got something in his briefcase,... (in his suitcase). 4.
