Student A You are a police officer. Student B You are a suspect.
Ø Last night, at about 9 o’clock, there was a robbery in a language school. The school cleaner saw the thieves running away. They took two video recorders and some CDs for learning Legal English. The cleaner says that he thinks they were students from the school. Ø You interview the suspects. They say they were together all evening in a restaurant. Write down questions to ask the suspects. Examples: Where were you last night? Where did you meet? What did you eat? What did your friend drink? How much was the bill? Who paid the bill? Ø Interview them separately but ask them the same questions. You interview one suspect and the other police officer interviews the other suspects at the same time in a different part of the room. If the suspects give different answers you know that they haven’t got a good alibi. Ø Last night, ay about 9 o’clock, there was a robbery in a language school. Thieves took two video recorders and some CDs for learning Legal English. The police suspect you! Your alibi is that you were with your friend all evening in a restaurant. Ø Work with your friend. Think of what you did last night in as much detail as possible and write it down. Remember that the stories you tell the police must be exactly the same. Prepare answers to these and other questions. Examples: Where were you last night? Where did you meet? What did you eat? What did your friend drink? How much was the bill? Who paid the bill? Ø The police officers interview you separately. One police officer interviews you and another police officer interviews your friend at the same time in a different part of the room.
