Local illumination of workplace comes down to choosing the lighting system, the definition of the required number of fixtures, their type and placement. On this basis, we calculate the parameters of the artificial lighting.

Usually performed by artificial lighting electric light sources of two types: incandescent and fluorescent lamps. Will use fluorescent lamps, which in comparison with incandescent have a number of significant advantages:

- spectral composition of light, they are close to daylight, natural light;

- have higher efficiency (1.5-2 times higher than the efficiency of incandescent lamps);

- have high luminous efficiency (3-4 times higher than incandescent lamps);

- longer service life.

Lighting calculation is performed for a room area of 13.6 m2, a width of 4.2 m, length 3.23 m, height - 3,2 m use the method of flux.

To determine the number of fixtures define the luminous flux incident on a surface by the formula:

(10)

where F - calculated luminous flux lm;

Е - normalized minimum illumination, Lux (determined by the table). Programmer's job, according to this table can be classified as precision work, therefore, the minimum illumination would be Е = 300 lx;

S - area of illuminated space (in our case S = 13,6м2);

Z - the ratio of average illumination to minimum (usually assumed to be equal 1,1…1,2, let Z= 1,1);

К - factor of safety, taking into account the loss of luminous flux lamp fixtures due to contamination during operation (its value depends on the type of premises and the nature of work carried out in it, and in our case К = 1,5);

n - the utilization rate (expressed as the ratio of the luminous flux incident on the estimated surface to the total flux of the lamps and shall be calculated in fractions of a unit, dependent on the characteristics of the light, the room size, painting the walls and ceiling, characterized by reflection coefficients from the walls (РС) and ceiling (РП)), value of the coefficients РС и РП were indicated above: РС=40%, РП=60%. Value n define the table of coefficients using different fixtures. To do this, calculate the index space by the formula (Building codes and regulations 23-5-95):

(11)

Where

S - size of premises, S = 13,6 m2

h - estimated overall depth, given a suspended ceiling h = 3 m; A - width of the room, А = 3,23 m;

В - length of the room, В = 4,2 m.

Substituting the values we obtain:

Knowing the index premises I, in Table 1 Building codes and regulations we find n = 0,25

Substitute all the values in the formula for determining the luminous flux F:

Lm.

To choose the lighting fluorescent lamp type LB40-1, luminous flux which F = 4320 Lm.

Calculate the number of lamps required by the formula:

(12)

where N - defined number of lamps;

F - luminous flux, F = 26928 lm;

Fl - luminous flux, Fl = 4320 lm.

Thus, when choosing lighting fixtures, each fixture can have three lamps.
