IV 1. Let’s talk about our country. What do you know about the activities of our country on the international arena?
As a sovereign country, Belarus is a member of some international organizations, such as the United Nations Organization (the UNO).Belarus takes an active part in the work of this organization. On the initiative of our country there were adopted many important decisions, especially on the punishment of war criminals, on education of youth and on friendship among nations. Every year Belarus signs many agreements and protocols in various fields. We take part in different international business, political and cultural seminars and conferences. Such Belarusian festivals as Belarus Fashion Week and the International Festival of Arts “Slavyansky Bazaar” are well-known all over the world. Designers from foreign countries demonstrate the international character of fashion. During Belarus Fashion Week designers organize different fashion events, for example, Fashion Study Centre, and charity projects like “Fashion for Kids”. But the most famous Belarusian cultural festival is Slavyansky Bazaar, which promotes culture and art. The goal of this festival is to support young talents. During this spectacular cultural event you may visit concerts of foreign music stars, a traditional fair of folk crafts “Town of Masters”, the International Investment Forum and Children’s Contest. The motto of this festival is “Through art-to peace and understanding”. So, as you see, Belarus tries to be active on the international arena. It helps to promote Belarusian cultural heritage.

IV 4.What can you advise to do to promote the popularity of the Belarusian language?
We are Belarusian people who live in Belarus. But in our everyday life we speak Russian. I think we should speak the Belarusian language more than Russian. In shops, drugstores, offices people should speak only Belarusian. And I would advise to organize special days or weeks at schools when we will speak only the Belarusian language.
IV 5.What sights in our country belong to world heritage?
Belarus has four World Heritage Sites, with two of them being shared between Belarus and its neighboring countries. The four are: Mir Castle Complex; Nesvizh Castle; Belovezhskaya Pushcha (shared with Poland); and the Struve Geodetic Arc (shared with Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Moldova, Russia, Sweden and Ukraine).
