The extinction of the dinosaurs

 

The dinosaurs probably became extinct after a giant asteroid hit the Earth about 65 million years ago. But what would have happened if this asteroid (1) ___ (miss)? Scientists believe that in this case, dinosaurs (2) ___ (continue) to dominate the Earth, and that modern animals (3) ___ (probably not exist). Instead of elephants and lions and so on, there (4) __ (be) different types of dinosaurs, because the animals we have now simply (5) ___ (be able) to evolve.
