A freshman John and a fifth-year student Jane.
John – Hi, beauty! Let me introduce myself! My name is John.
Jane – Nice to meet you. I am Jane.
John – Nice to meet you. What faculty are you in?
Jane – I am in the History Faculty.
John – Cool! I am doing history, too! What department are you in then?
Jane – I am in the Department of Ancient History. And you?
John – Oh, I think I’ll be there too.
Jane – Haven’t you decided yet?
John – Now I’m sure I’m eager to be in the Department of Ancient History. By the way, what are you going to do tonight?
Jane – Nothing special. Why?
John – Let’s go to the cinema.
Jane – Eh, probably. Only one question – what year are you in?
John – It’s my first year.
Jane – I see. No, I’m too busy tonight. I should prepare for the seminar. You are too little for me. I am a fifth-year student, you know.
John – Oh!
Two students - Mary and Peter.
Mary – Hi, Peter! Haven’t seen you for ages! How are you doing?
Peter – Oh, Hello, Mary! I’m fine, thanks. How are you?
Mary – I’m fine. So, you also study here at Perm State University, don’t you? And what faculty are you in?
Peter – I’m doing English.
Mary – That’s fine! I am in the History Faculty.
Peter – Yeah, I remember, you always liked history. It was shortly before leaving school that you made up your mind to be a historian.
Mary – Yeah, and you are going to be an interpreter, aren’t you?
Peter – Whether I will make an interpreter remains to be seen. Eventually I will become quite knowledgeable in the field of learning languages. Mary, what are you majoring in?
Mary – Oh, I haven’t yet made up my mind! I take a special liking to the History of the Middle Ages, to archeology, Latin, let alone some other things!
Peter – I’m majoring in the English Literature by which I am greatly attracted. Oh, Mary, I should go to the lecture now. See you later.
Mary – So long.
