Listening 1 Work

Starting a family early usually means giving something up. You will hear a few women, who had children early in their lives, telling about the price they had to pay for their decision.

Listen to their stories and then do the test. Read the foregoing statements and define whether they are true (T), false (F) or, if a statement contains the facts that are not mentioned in the stories, not given (N/G).

 

1. Tara Hastings and her husband didn’t plan to have children early.

2. Tara was not fully prepared to face the challenges of nurturing kids.

14. Vanessa claimed she would never sacrifice her career for her children’s sake.

15. All the four women attach more significance to raising children than anything else in their lives.
