4) A demonstrated application of the three prioritization questions in the D' step. For this point, you must articulate your rationale for prioritizing an action in the D' step. It is not enough to just list the action, or to answer 'yes' to each prioritization question. You must explain your thinking.

For example, consider this answer for the prioritized action of "partnering with a recycler to implement a recycling program for electronics":

"We feel that instituting a recycling program for electronics fits our criteria for a prioritized move based on our answers below to the three prioritizing questions.

1)It reduces, and possibly eliminates, our contribution to a systematically increasing concentration of trace metals in the biosphere because trace metals will be kept in technical loops to be reused as raw materials.

2)By partnering with a recycler we do not have to make heavy financial investments, nor are we committing to only one type of technology for recycling in the long-run. In other words, this investment provides us flexibility because we can change recyclers in the future, or use alternative technologies in future moves towards sustainability.

3) We can develop a financial arrangement with the recycler where they pick-up and recycle our electronics for free, because they will "mine" the trace metals and sell those as raw materials. We will need a small internal promotions campaign to ensure that recycling happens within our organization, however, we feel that this is a small investment when considering how we may avoid tougher legislation regarding disposal of electronics in the future."

Please remember that the prioritizing questions are used as a guide to help prioritize actions, not to justify all your brainstormed actions, i.e. some brainstormed actions will simply not be a good idea as an early move, but may remain excellent options for future moves.

You should also indicate a timeline showing your early choices of actions (the low hanging fruit) and the later actions that you plan to implement (e.g. now, 1 year, 3-5 yrs, 10 yrs), along with your justification for those decisions (using the prioritization questions as a guide).
