Task 2. Arrange the following events in the order they happened. One of the events didn’t take place. Summarize the chapter using these notes.

a. Miss Polly goes to Boston.

b. Miss Polly hides from Dr. Chilton.

c. Nancy plays the glad game.

d. Pollyanna calls Dr. Chilton.

e. Pollyanna does her aunt’s hair.

f. Pollyanna finds Mr. Pendleton in the woods.

g. Pollyanna moves to a new bedroom.

h. Pollyanna talks at the charity meeting.

i. Pollyanna visits Dr. Chilton.

j. Pollyanna visits Mr. Pendleton.

k. The girl meets Dr. Chilton.

Task 3. Study the following sentences and their Russian equivalents. Do you remember who said them or about whom they were said?

“I have a bad head.” – Мне болит голова.

“What’s the matter?” – В чём дело? (Что случилось?)

“Wait there for him to arrive.” – Подожди там, пока он придёт.

And she listened with an open mouth – Она слушала, открыв рот.

“It was very bad of you.” – Это было очень плохо с твоей стороны.

“Do you want me? I’m up here.” – Вы меня ищете? Я здесь, наверху.

“It’s not right for folks to see me with a silly flower in my head.” – Не нужно, чтобы люди (знакомые) видели меня с нелепы цветком в волосах.
