Exercise.1. Прочитайте та запам’ятайте наступні слова та вирази:



check in – реєструватися

sign – підписувати

bill – рахунок

to give a tip – давати чайові

receiver / handset - телефонна трубка

pick up – підняти

dial - набирати номер

confirm – підтверджувати

to cut off - роз'єднати

Available - доступний, наявний, можливий


extension number- додатковий номер
wrong number- невірно набраний номер

spell- писати, називати по літерах

Exercise.2. Прочитайте та перекладіть діалоги:

Dialogue 1

Receptionist: Good afternoon. Can 1 help you?

Guest: Yes. Are there any vacancies?

R.': Yes, there are. How long would you like to stay?

G.: Six nights.

R.: What kind of room would you like?

G.: A single, if possible. By the way, could you tell me what your rates are?

R.: The singles are $90: Breakfast included.

G.: It suits me. It's quite a reasonable price.

R,: Can I see your passport, please?

G,; Here you are.

R.: Thank you.

Dialogue 2

Receptionist: Good evening, sir. What can I do for you?

Guest: Good evening, I have reserved a room at your hotel.

R.: What's your name?

G.: Oleh Kovalenko.

R.: Just a moment and I'll check,.. Yeah. A double room with a private

bath and English breakfast for two nights. Is that right, sir?

G.; Yes, that's right.

R.: Just sign the register... Thank you. Here's your key. Room 217, it's on

the second floor. The lift is over there. I'll have your things sent up.

G.; Thank you. What is the time for breakfast?

R.: Any time between 7 and 9.30. Where are you going to have your breakfast, sir? In your room or in the restaurant?

G.: I'd rather have it in my room.

R.: What time, sir?

G.: At 8 o'clock.

Gary: Good morning. Credit Bank. This is Gary Bert speaking.

How can I help you?

Mark: Hello, could you put me through to Frank Elliot, the personal

bank manager, please?

G: I'm afraid he's taking a call on the other line. Would you like to hold?

M: Can I leave a message, please?

G: Oh, yes.

M: Mark Chapman is expecting a money transfer from the United States. Ask Frank Elliot to send me the information about my account current. My fax number is 054 699 954.

G: I'll pass on the message.

M: Thank you for your help. Bye.
