UPGRADE BY burning sd CARD

Important notices for upgrading

l Make sure power is not interrupted during the upgrading process. In case power is interrupted, you need to upgrade your Android TV again.

l For successful upgrading, the upgrade pack ‘xxx.osk’ must ensure its validity, completeness and correctness.

Ø Validity: The upgrade will not start if the ID of xxx.osk is not for a specified serial number.

Ø Completeness: If the file copy process is interrupted, the xxx.osk will not be complete, and the upgrade will not start automatically.

Ø Correctness: During the upgrading process, the system will read every file in the upgrade pack and calculate and compare checksum. If there is checksum error with a file, the system will skip updating this file.

UPGRADE BY COPYING THE FILE

1. Insert your SD Card or your external USB device into your computer.

2. Create a UpdateKit directory under the root directory of the SD card/USB device. Please note that the name of the directory is case sensitive. If it already exits, empty this directory.

3. Copy the upgrade pack android.osk to UpdateKit. Please note that android.osk are all in lower case. If the file name of the upgrade pack is not named as android.osk, please change it to android.osk.

4. Power on your Android TV. Insert the SD card or your external USB device into your Android TV.

5. Open File Manager in the Home Screen or Launcher. Go to sdcard/external-sdcard, long press UpdateKit to pop out a window and select Copy. If you copied the file into your external USB device, go to HDD/HDD1 to find the UpdateKit.

6. Go to /data (This folder is in the internal memory of your Android TV), Press Menu button and select Paste. Then the UpdateKit folder and the upgrade pack android.osk under this folder will be pasted here. Wait for a short period of time until the copy is complete.

7. Unplug your Android TV and then plug it back to restart your Android TV. Then the upgrading will start automatically.

8. The upgrading takes about 5 minutes. During the upgrading process, the green LED indicator on your Android TV stays on. When the upgrading is complete, the green light flashes. If the upgrading fails, the light turns off.

9. After the upgrading is complete and the green light flashes, please unplug your Android TV and then plug it back to restart your Android TV.

Important:

l The upgrade starts automatically as long as there is the upgrade pack ‘android.osk’ under /data/UpdateKit. And ‘android.osk’ will automatically be deleted after the upgrading is finished no matter whether the upgrading is successful or not. If the upgrading is not successful, you need to copy the upgrade pack again and complete the upgrading.

l The folder name UpdateKit and the upgrade pack name android.osk are fixed and case sensitive. If the upgrade file is not named as android.osk, change it into android.osk.

 

UPGRADE BY burning sd CARD

1. Back up the data in your SD card. When you use this SD card to upgrade your Android TV, all the information in this card will be erased.

2. Double click “SDtool” on your computer. The following window appears.

 

 

3. Click Browse and find the update file. (The file extension should be.osk. The name of the file can be any name as given by the dealer.)

4. Click Detect. Don’t insert SD card before you Click Detect. If you already insert an SD card, remove it from your computer first, and then click Detect.

5. After you click Detect, you will see the status bar moving forward. Insert your SD card before the status bar finishes moving.

6. When the status bar finishes moving, the Detect button will be turned into “SD card connect” And the “Make target Card” will become usable. Click “Make target card” and then the SD card burning begins. Wait a short period of time until a window pops out indicating “Success”. Click OK to complete.

10. Insert the SD card into your Android TV. If your Android TV is already powered on, unplug your Android TV and then plug it back to restart your Android TV. Then the upgrading will start automatically. If your Android TV is off, just power it on, then the upgrading will start automatically.

11. The upgrading takes about 5 minutes. During the upgrading process, the green LED indicator on your Android TV stays on. When the upgrading is complete, the green light flashes. If the upgrading fails, the light turns off.

12. Remove the SD card from your Android TV. Unplug your Android TV and then plug it back to restart your Android TV.

Important!

1. You can insert the same SD card to other units of Android TV for upgrading. It is suitable for mass production.

2. If SD card cannot be detected, format your SD card and then try again. If there is still detection problem, try using SDtool on other computer with Windows XP system.

3. Remove the SD card from your Android TV after upgrading is complete. Otherwise your Android TV will upgrade again when you restart it.

4. If you want to use your burned SD card for file storage, you need to format the SD card.
