Participants outside Europe

• Participants must be between the ages of 18-35
• Be a full time student of a hotel business or tourism curriculum
• Obtain a letter from his/her university stating that this training is an integral part of their studies
• Minimum of 90 day program length
• Completion of 2 week language course in Seville prior to the internship program
• Previous Experience is not necessary, but hotels give preference to participants with industry experience
• Participants are expected to be motivated, independent, flexible and open minded
• Intermediate grasp of Spanish language

APPLICATION DEADLINE

AHA host properties hire throughout the year, therefore there is not an application deadline. As soon as a hotel informs AHA of an opening, we begin sending resumes to the hotel from our data base, therefore positions do fill quickly – but new opportunities become available weekly. If your application is not already in the AHA data base, it is important to mention the positions may be filled by the time the AHA process is complete. Therefore, please view this list to learn the type of positions available, hotels and locations..

Housing Information

Throughout the programme you will be living in a staff accommodation (free of charge) at the host company (it could be a flat or a staff hotel room of the hotel), which are in good conditions however not luxury. You may be required to share the room and/or accommodation with other staff members. Please take your own towels, but do not take any blankets or duvets, as these will be provided.

We cannot guarantee that a public telephone will be available for your use; we therefore recommend you to take a mobile phone with you. Spanish SIM cards for your mobile of a Spanish company (Vodaphone, Amena, Movistar) are available at cheap prices. This way you will have a Spanish mobile number and your calls within Spain are much cheaper.

During your stay you will have full board allowance so you will not have to purchase food. If not, a different agreement between the parties will be agreed.

Number of Hours per Week

Participant is required to complete 38 and 40 hours per week of practical training.

Compensation

Participant will receive a minimum monthly voluntary gratification of $250 plus accommodation and full board (Housing plus meals)

Language Course

Participants are offered the opportunity to study in a recognized language school in Seville with a maximum of 10 students per class. Participants with an advanced level of Spanish may commence with the practical training program without the need to attend a language course. For non EU, a 2 week language training course in Seville is compulsory.

Travel Cost

Transportation to and from daily work schedule is the responsibility of the participant. Most of the participants live in or close to the hotel so they are able to walk, ride a bicycle or take public transportation.

Transportation from airport to hotel is the responsibility of the participant - in most cases the placement partner will assist in organizing and in some cases assists with the cost.

Air Transportation is the responsibility of the participant.
