“PECULIARITIES OF CONSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENTS IN THE MODERN WORLD”

The Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University is pleased to announce the International Summer School “Peculiarities of Constitutional Developments in the Modern World”.

The International Summer School will be held from June 29 to July 5, 2014 in the capital of the Republic of Armenia – Yerevan, at the Armenian leading law school – Law Faculty of Yerevan State University.

The aim of the International Summer School is to reveal the peculiarities of constitutional developments in the modern world, carry out high quality training of the students who are studying the issues related to this field, raise the level of their theoretical and practical knowledge, form and contribute to the culture of international cooperation and mutual assistance between the theorists and practitioners doing research in the mentioned field.

The importance of the event is particularly emphasized in the context of current constitutional developments in Armenia. Due to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia dated September 4, 2013 a Professional Commission for Constitutional Reforms was formed, which should submit to the President of the Republic the concept of constitutional reforms by April 20, 2014 and upon receiving his approval for the concept of constitutional reforms, within ten months, submit to the President of the Republic of Armenia the draft constitutional reforms.

The International Summer School has a broad perspective: it brings together theorists, practitioners, experts involved in the process of constitutional developments from Armenia and foreign countries, as well as students from different law schools.

The program of the Summer School includes lectures delivered by the professors from various countries, visits to the state institutions of the Republic of Armenia (and lectures delivered by the representatives of these bodies), social activities and cultural events.

The International Summer School 1) will promote the development of international cooperation between theorists and practitioners doing research in the mentioned field, 2) will contribute to the formation and development of the culture of mutual assistance in the noted sphere, 3) will give an opportunity to reveal the peculiarities of constitutional developments in the modern world, 4) will contribute to high quality trainings of the students in the discussed field, to raising the level of their theoretical and practical knowledge, 5) the conclusions and new ideas made as a result of the discussions can be used in the process of constitutional reforms in Armenia.

The working languages of the International Summer School are Russian and English.
