Take the other napkin and, using both hands, unfold it. Show both sides.

Tear the napkin in half straight down the center (photo 2). Put the pieces together (one

behind the other) and tear them in half again. Put the pieces together and tear them in half one more time.

Using the fingers of both hands, crush the torn pieces into a small ball. Hold this ball between your right thumb and first finger, in front of the hidden ball, which you’ve had in your hand the whole time (photo 3 is an exposed view).

Bring your hands together, palm to palm, as if to rub them against each other, rolling the paper into a ball between them. Now you will switch one ball for the other. When you first bring your hands together palm to palm, they will look like photo 4 (the hands are held slightly apart so you can see inside—the audience would not see this). The whole nap-kin is the one between your palms, closer to you. The torn napkin is the one between your fingers.

Curl your right fingers around the torn napkin ball so it is hidden inside them, then take the whole napkin ball with your left thumb and fingers (photo 5 is an exposed view). Immediately raise your left hand to your mouth and blow on the napkin it holds. At the same time your right hand (with the torn napkin ball hidden inside) drops to your side (photo 6).

Insert your right hand into the pocket containing the pen, pencil, or cigarette lighter. Leave the torn napkin in your pocket and bring out the other item. If it’s a pen or pencil, use it like a magic wand and wave it over your left hand (photo 7). If it’s a cigarette lighter, then ignite it and wave it around your left hand (at a safe distance). Either way put the object on the table afterward.

Now open your left hand—the napkin looks the same to the audi-ence. Use both hands to open it up and reveal that it is completely re-stored to one piece (photo 8).

Procreation

Criss rips a napkin into pieces and makes three small balls out of it. He places two in his hand and one in his pocket. Faster than the eye can see, the third ball jumps back to his hand. This happens several times and the final time, when Criss opens his hand, dozens of tiny balls pop out.
