Letter of information

The First International Forum “Omsk Model United Nations 2013” (OmIMUN) will take place from Marсh 4-6 at Omsk F.M.Dostoevskiy State University.

Registration for delegates will be open from January 30 of 2013 through March 2, 2013.

OmIMUN is a role play where university and high school students simulate the work of the United Nations through the three main bodies of the UN.

Participants are high school and university students of different majors from universities from all over the world. Delegates of OmIMUN act as official representatives of the UN member countries and discuss the issues on the agenda of the respective committees. They defend the positions of their country, follow the rules of procedure and adopt the resolution.

The international Model United Nations community unites ambitious young people from different countries with the desire to make the world a better place.

The official languages for the Omsk Model United Nation are Russian and English.

All the delegates will be awarded with the certificates of the successful participants.

Omsk International Model United Nations will take place from March 4-6 in the second building of Omsk State University. Address: Pr. Mira 55, Omsk, Russia.

Eligibility

To participate in OmIMUN you have to fill in the application form and write a short essay of no more than 500 on the topic of your committee (optional). The complete application form must be send to: [e-mail].

There is no registration fee.

The countries will be assigned within two work days after the application was received. Delegates will be notified about the country he/she was assigned via e-mail.

The delegate cannot present the country of his/her citizenship. Delegate can participate only in one committee during the OmIMUN.

After confirming the assigned country delegates are strongly encouraged to start working on the Country Position Paper and draft resolution.

Secretary of OmIMUN will help foreign delegates with accommodation.

Foreign participants who will require a visa to take part in the OmIMUN are strongly encouraged to apply before February, 10^th.
