Interpreter Service 5! Welcome to the program that looks at the world we live in. Today we want to find out something about life in Japanese schools. We all know that education is important in every country, but they say that in Japan it’s even more important. There are lots of reasons. One of them is attitude to jobs. In our country you can try lots of things until you find the right job. In Japan it’s different. Children must do well at school to get a good job. The atmosphere in junior school is different from primary school. It’s less relaxed and more competitive. The discipline is quite strict. The teacher talks and the children listen and take notes. It’s considered rude to question a teacher. Japanese children like school because they have no time to be bored. I believe, our schools could borrow something from Japanese ones.
