The second international scientific congress

«East and West: ethnic identity and a traditional musical heritage as a dialogue of civilizations and cultures»

The work in the following sections is planned as:

1. Ethnic Identity of Traditional Cultures of the East and the West in the Modern World: Myths

and a Reality;

2. A Traditional Musical Heritage of the East and the West: Dialogue of the Civilizations and

Cultures;

3. Ethnomusicology: Issues of Studies;

4. Myth and Religion in Traditional Cultures of the East and the West at the Present-Day Stage:

Interaction and Penetration;

5. Folklore Historiography. The Computer Technologies in Archiving East and West Traditional

Cultures: from a Phonograph to a Digital Camera and Internet-resources;

6. A heritage of the medieval traditions of the East and the West in modern author's texts;

7. The Composer and Folklore: Issues of Interaction;

8. Folklore Studies and Education. Modern Approaches to Training Specialists in the Field of

Folklore and Folklore Studies by Scholars from Various Countries of Europe and Asia;

9. Instrumental Performance as a Field of East and West Interaction in the World Musical

Culture;

10. Musical Ethnic Aspects of the Modern Conflict Resolution;
11. Cognitive Musicology - the Science of the 21st Century.

Scientists-musicologists, ethnographers, regional specialists, sociologists, historians, political scientists, teachers of the higher average educational institutions, post-graduate students and competitors of scientific degrees are invited to participation in the congress.

For participation in the International congress

It is necessary to present to Organizing committee: Till March, 20-th, 2013:

1) The Summary that includes the name of the report with abstracts on the one page (350 signs), with instructions of the name, surname (completely) of the participant, posts, places of work, an academic status, degree, the address (post and electronic), phone/fax.

The Summary should be applied to paper (no more than 0,5 pages) in English and Russian languages. The organizing committee reserves the right to itself to reject incorrectly issued or at the wrong time submitted materials, and also the materials which are not corresponding to subjects of the congress.
