1) What are your favourite kinds of sport?
Personally I can't imagine my life without sport. I'm sure you don't need to be good at sport to enjoy it - it is the participation and not winning, that matters. I like different kinds of sport. In summer I go jogging every morning, when I nave free time I attend swimming pool and sometimes I play badminton with my best friend.
As for watching I prefer gymnastics and ice dancing. I like watching the world and European championships. I am always fascinated by the grace, speed and skill of the sportsmen.
2) Do you agree that doing sports is a healthy habit?
Yes, I do. I think it’s a healthy habit. Sport is probably as old as the humanity itself. To my mind we can hardly overestimate the meaning of sport in our life, because its main purpose is to bring up the harmoniously developed generation - the generation of strong and healthy people. Sport makes our bodies strong and shapes the wits. It also prevents us from getting too fat and makes us more self-organized and better disciplined.
3) What questions will you ask a professional sportsman?
How long have you been doing this kind of sport? How much time do you practice every day? Do you keep to a diet? What championships have you taken part in? What tips can you give to a beginner?
4) What can you advise a person who doesn’t know what kind of sport to take up?
If a person doesn’t know what kind of sport to take up, I think it would be reasonable to discuss the matter with his parents and friends, then to surf the Internet and learn as much as possible about different kinds of sport and choose something that appeals to him.
He should remember we do something for developing our personality and not only for winning. Sport helps a lot. So such a person can take up something that can help him be stronger and form a character.
5) What is the best way to promote a healthy way of life among your people? Why is it important to stay healthy?
I think the best way here is to keep young people informed ofthe consequences of an unhealthy way of life and then they can choose what is better for them. There are lots of articles and films on the topic. And it’s necessary to popularize sport and active way of life. Among the benefits of regular exercise are a healthier heart, stronger bones and better resistance to various illnesses.
It’s really important to stay healthy if you want to be happy, have a good job, your own family and make friends. We should avoid bad habits that can affect our health such as smoking, overeating, inactive life. I think people nowadays are more health-conscious than they used to be. They understand good health is above wealth.
