· Предложите варианты перевода следующих слов. Укажите, какие из русских слов полностью передают психоакустический образ оригинала, какие частично:

1) mutter - a. to say smth quietly, especially when you are annoyed about smth: What are you two muttering about?

2) mumble - to say smth quietly and not pronouncing your words clearly: He bumped into someone and mumbled an apology. A woman on the corner was mumbling to herself.

6) bang – a. to hit something hard, making a loud noise: Stop banging on the door!

b. to put something down or against something with a lot of force, making a loud noise: He banged a teapot on the table.

c. to close something violently, making a loud noise, or to be closed in this way: The windowbanged shut.

7) splash - a. if a liquid splashes, it hits or falls on something and makes a noise: The ocean splashed against the pier.

b. to make someone or something wet with a lot of small drops of water or other liquid: He splashed cold water on his face.

c. to make water fly up in the air with a loud noise by hitting it or by moving around in it: She ran up the drive, splashing through the puddles.

8)crack – a. to break or to make something break, either so that it gets lines on its surface, or so that it breaks into pieces: Don't put boiling water in the glass or it will crack.

b. to make a quick loud sound like the sound of something breaking, or to make something do this: Thunder cracked overhead.

c. to hit someone or something hard: I slipped and cracked my head on the door.

9)buzz – a. to make a continuous sound, like the sound of a bee: a loud buzzing noise

b. to move around in the air making a continuous sound like a bee: Bees were buzzing around the picnic tables.

c. to move quickly around a place: There were all sorts of rumours buzzing through the office.

d. if a group of people or a place is buzzing, there is a lot of activity or excitement: a classroomwas buzzing with activity

e. if your head or mind is buzzing with thoughts, ideas etc, you cannot stop thinking about them: My mind was buzzing with new ideas.
