A business trip

Last November Susan Mack went to Spain on business. She spent the first two days at a trade fair in Madrid. Then, on the third, she saw some of the sights and bought some leather goods. On the forth day she had an appointment with a transport company in the north of the country. As she did not want to waste any time she booked a return ticket on the 9.30 flight to San Sebastian.

After a marvelous lunch in a restaurant overlooking the sea, Senor Criado drove her to the airport for the 5.15 flight back to Madrid. At 4.45 she heard the announcement. The flight was cancelled. No one knew the exact reason. Susan was furious. There was no train until the next morning and she had to be in Toledo a city south of Madrid for an appointment at 10.00 a.m.

She thought for a while of all the possibilities. Then, suddenly, she overheard s conversation between two men. She listened hard – and finally understood that they wanted to make a party of four to share a taxi back to Madrid. She immediately asked if she could join them and they soon found a forth person, an old priest, to complete the party.

The author hung on every word of his son get proud of him, in his 15 years he could see many places the author could have never dreamt of, got the story and saw the other people living. The author had never been abroad except Canada, so he was to hear thrilling stories of his son.
