LIKE, HATE +V ING [5, p.46]
These verbs and expressions (love, hate) all mean “Like or Not like”. They are often followed by –ing. I love waking up on a sunny morning. I hate getting up early. Verbs to show likes and dislikes always take an object. The object can be a noun, a pronoun or an –ing form. subject verb object I love football. (noun) He likes it. (pronoun) She hates doing the housework.(-ing form) We use -ing (notto…) when we talk about a situation that already exists (or existed). Do youlike beinga student?
