1. Witnesses – Свидетели a person who sees an event, typically a crime or accident, take place:

* police are appealing for witnesses to the accident

2. Evidence– Доказательства Law information drawn from personal testimony, a document, or a material object, used to establish facts in a legal investigation or admissible as testimony in a law court:

3. Trial – Судебное разбирательство - a formal examination of evidence by a judge, typically before a jury, in order to decide guilt in a case of criminal or civil proceedings:

4. Court – Суд - (also court of law) a body of people presided over by a judge, judges, or magistrate, and acting as a tribunal in civil and criminal cases:

* she will take the matter to court

5. Jury– Присяжные - a body of people (typically twelve in number) sworn to give a verdict in a legal case on the basis of evidence submitted to them in court:

* the jury returned unanimous guilty verdicts

6. Judge -Судья - a public officer appointed to decide cases in a law court:

* he is due to appear before a judge and jury on Monday a High Court Judge

7. Sentenced – Приговор– the punishment assigned to a defendant found guilty by a court, or fixed by law for a particular offence:

* her husband is serving a three-year sentence for fraud

8. Abandon– Отказ - complete lack of inhibition or restraint:

* she sings and sways with total abandon

9. To slip - Поскользнуться - lose one’s footing and slide unintentionally for a short distance:

* I slipped over on the ice

10. To trip – Споткнуться - catch one’s foot on something and stumble or fall:

* he tripped over his cat

11. Launderette - Прачечная an establishment with coin-operated washing machines and dryers for public use.
