Some say that clothes are not important and that personality should be given attention to. Others say that clothes shape one person's image. I prefer to say that there is a strong relationship between clothes and personality, that can be detected through:

Style - very important criterion when buying clothes, as these should be chosen according to age, occupation and, most important - personality. If you are businessman or woman you should choose your clothes accordingly - 60 percent of them office, 40% casual and probably sport. If you are a college girl or boy most of your clothes will probably be casual and sport, etc. But, without any dress code boundaries, the most important task is to identify your personal style, matching with your personality!

Fashion is a delicate subject, as most of the people are interested in fashion; even if admitting to be a fashion victim or trying to deny, everybody pays attention to fashion trends. I personally tend to adapt the fashion notion, as I consider the trends just a recommendation which should be adapted to personal style. Therefore, in order to be a fashion person one can either adopt all the fashion principles or take recommendations such as colors, patterns, trends (vintage or new) etc. Actually, adapting fashion to personality is the most important, as wearing clothes that do not suit your personality, with no other reason that they are on trend will have terrible effects.

Adapting fashion style - to your body characteristics is extremely important when buying clothes. Needless to say that one fat person shall not wear extremely tight clothes or that an old person looks better wearing warm, but not flashy colors and so on. As a general rule, all problems should be hidden by clothes and all advantages shall be boosted. Hiding or not some features of the body can show how much one person is at peace with her/himself.

Quality of clothes is very important and it is not rated by the money one spends on clothes, although usually expensive clothes are high quality ones, one person can also buy second hand clothes of much better quality than clothes newly procured from shops.

As a conclusion to this, I consider clothes very important, as one should be very attentive to all above mentioned criteria when shopping for clothes, otherwise lots of money is spent uselessly and lots of questions will arise before leaving the house.

Fashion is a thing that we have to keep up with, whether you like it or not. Anyway it’s important to look attractive. But it doesn’t mean that you should be a fashion-conscious. It may turn to a waste of money. If a person doesn’t have good taste he is not able to put things together. Trendy people want to stand out in a crowd, but sometimes they don’t look stylish.
First of all, think clothes should suit you. If you have good taste you can buy a big range of styles and always look fashionable. But clothes should suit the occasion, and put you in the right mood for the day. But there are people who are not able bothered about fashion, they just want to stand out in a crowd by wearing something unusual, old-fashioned or trendy. Actually, I’m not such a person and I guess you should choose things according to your personality and character, and you’ll look well-dressed even if you wear something casual. I like wearing different kinds of clothes, but certainly clothes should suit the occasion. When I plan what I’m going to wear I usually think what kind of meeting I have. At school we weren’t allowed to wear sport or bright clothes, we had to wear clothes of formal style. Usually I wore a jacket, a blouse and trousers or a skirt. But I didn’t like being dressed that way, as many other students. Really I prefer smart clothes to formal. Besides I enjoy wearing sport clothes, because I feel comfortable in it. Also on my list of likes there are jeans. One of my favourite colours is white, so I like white sweaters, tops and skirts. I usually wear high heeled shoes even if it’s not always comfortable or thick-soled boots. When I go out I always dress up, because I feel better that way. But when I have an official meeting I try to wear formal clothes.

Personal style is always hard to define. What do you compare yourself to when being asked about your personal style? If you don't always have the same look every day how do you describe your personal style when put on the spot? Usually I can only manage to say that I like bright colors and head pieces and reference a few people I admire. I have never been able to give an accurate, in depth description. Sometimes I even question whether I have a personal style. I mean I certainly do know what I will not wear but, I can never manage to get a good handle on exactly what I will wear when being asked.

My possible reasons for being stumped about my personal style are:

1.) Maybe there are not enough options. We all know that plus size clothing options are limited so, how can you accurately express your personal style when you don't feel like you have all the right resources?

2.) Impulse buying. Sometimes you can find your self just buying things because at the time they look cute but, later on you think,"why did I buy this?" Still though, you're stuck with it and since you brought it you feel obligated to wear it. The problem is when you do you may not feel like you're expressing your self accurately.

3.) Somethings are just simply undefinable. If you're rocking a bright pink dress with leather studded wedges one day and then a peach t-shirt dress with a pair of flats the next how do you define your personal style them? Does this sometimes make you feel like you have no personal style?

4.) A lack of prominent plus size fashion Icons. While there are many straight size fashion icons that we all take queues from, that inspire us, and that we rate as fashion icons wouldn't it be great to be able to compare your self to a plus size icon other then the obvious choice of Beth Ditto. There are a few more plus size ladies out there with iconic style but, how many of them are know as well as Beth Ditto? I mean don't get me wrong I love her and she is certainly on my list of icons but, I'm just saying wouldn't it be a lot easier to reference your personal style if you had more people that looked like you to reference? Maybe, maybe not. I'm just tossing out ideas here.
