About My Family

My name is Mary. I’ m 20. My family is not very big, just a typical family: Dad, Mom, me, my brother and sister and our cat. My Mummy is forty-one, she is a teacher of Spanish at the University. She is a born teacher. She has teaching abilities. My Dad is forty-two, he is a professional painter, he works for a design company. My parents both like their work very much.

My elder sister Lisa is nineteen, she goes to the Uni­versity, she wants to be a teacher of history. She is fond of reading books on history and fiction. My younger brother Ben is only six years old, he goes to the kindergarten. He is very funny, I like to spend my free time teaching him something. Ben likes to play with our cat.

My grandparents are retired. They like gardening. They spend a lot of their time in the garden. They grow vegetables and fruits. We enjoy having fresh vegetables and green on our dinner table. I love my family very much. We always help each other. Everyone in my family is my best friend.

Money and Family

Rama’s family is very big. Rama is a hard worker and he is the only bread winner of the family. He has three kids, two sons and a daughter. He lives along with father and mother.

He works for more than 16 hours a day. The kids cannot see him because he leaves home early in the morning before they wake-up and returns home at night when kids are sleeping. His children eagerly wait for Sundays to spend time with him and miss him so much.

Unfortunately, Rama took a weekend job to earn more money for his family. He started to work even on Sundays. The kids, his wife and parents were very upset.

A year passed. Rama had a good job and earned a lot of money. The family moved to a new house, got better clothes and ate healthy foods. However, as usual, Rama continues to earn more and more money. One day his wife asked him ‘why are you running for money? We can be happy with what we have now.’

Rama replied, ‘I want to give the best in the world to all of you and want you to stay happy always.’

Two years passed and Rama hardly spent time with his family.

Now, Rama’s family is one of the richest families in the city. Still, Rama’s children miss him very much.

His children turned teens and they are no more kids.

Once Rama’s family went to their beach house to spend their vacation. His daughter asked, ‘Dad will you please spend one day at home and stay with us here?’

Rama replied, ‘Yes darling, tomorrow for sure, I will join you for the lunch and be with you all for next few days. I’m tired of work!’

The entire family became very happy.

Unfortunately, the next day, none in Rama’s family were alive as they were washed out in Tsunami!

Rama was too busy even to hear the news about Tsunami. When he tried to reach his beach house, he saw sea and water everywhere and screamed for his family, He could not even find the dead bodies of his family.

He can never have them again, cannot even see them and even by paying millions he cannot get them back to life!

He remembered his wife’s words, ‘Why are you running for money? We can be happy with what we have now.’
