Léifēng Pagoda Pagoda
(Léifēng Ta, Thunder Peak Pagoda; admission ¥40; 7.30am-9pm mid-Mar–mid-Nov, 8am-5.30pm mid-Nov–mid-Mar) Topped with a golden spire, this imposing pagoda can be climbed for fine views of the lake. The original pagoda, built in 977, collapsed in 1924.
JÌngcÍ Zen Monastery Buddhist Temple
Offline map Google map (Jìngcí Sì; Nanshan Lu; admission ¥10; 6am-5.15pm summer, 6.30am-4.45pm winter) Set against the hillside across the road from Léifēng Pagoda, this peaceful temple is lovely. Check out the vast effigy of Sakyamuni in the main hall and the magnificent 1000-arm statue of the goddess Guanyin in the Guanyin Hall (Guānyīn Diàn).
