My life has changed considerably since I entered the National University of Water Management and Nature Resources Use. On the first of September I became a first-year student. I must say that studying is not an easy thing. It is a long and slow process that takes a lot of time and effort. I know I must do my best to get many-sided and profound knowledge. I study at the day-time department, so we have classes in the morning. That is why I must get up early. Usually my alarm-clock wakes me up at about half past six. I turn on my favourite music, make my bed, wash my face or have a shower. I don’t like to do morning exercises, though I know well that they are very useful. I have a light breakfast and leave for the University. I live in Zdolbuniv that is why I go to the University by bus.
My lectures begin at a quarter past eight. During the semester students have to attend lectures, classes and seminars. The study of theory is accompanied by practical training. At the end of each semester our students take exams, tests and give in yearly projects. Every day I have two or three lectures and two or three hours of practical classes. During the intervals my friends and I have a bite to eat at the University canteen. I never get home before five o’clock. I usually stay at the University to study in the lab or in the library. Our University provides the requisite teaching and research facilities for its day-time and correspondence department students, postgraduates, lecturers and other staff. There are numerous spacious lecture theatres, laboratories, study rooms with up-to-date equipment, computer centres, design studios. It takes me a couple of hours to get my home assignment done.
But my life would have been very dull without sport and art activities, without music and going out with my friends. Students’ life is full of exciting events both in academic and social life. So, one must be fit to enjoy its benefits. It makes me going for regular exercise at the University sport complex at least 3 times a week. Well, you see my working day is rather tight. I hardly find time to watch TV and read newspapers in the evening. But what I really do is eight-hour sleep, three-time meal and going out at weekends. It helps me to be organized, feel well and be in control. In five years I see myself a skilled specialist and hope to get an interesting and well-paid job.
