The Ulyanovsk Teachers Training University

When a person leaves school he understands that the time to choose his future profession has come. Leaving school is the beginning of the independent life. As a rule it is difficult for, many school-leavers to give a definite and right answer. As far as I am concerned I am a "would be" teacher. I left school in June and began to prepare for my entrance exams. As both my mother and father are teachers I have made up my mind to be a teacher too. I think teaching is a noble profession. I had to take four entrance exams and I passed all of them with good marks. Now 1 am a first-year student of the Ulyanovsk Teachers Training University at the Department of Mathematics and Informatics.

Look at the main building of our University which is situated on the Volga embankment. It is a magnificent building and we can't help admiring it.

There are faculties at our University which train teachers in many subjects: Russian, Literature, Mathematics, Physics, Foreign Languages, Geography, Chemistry, Biology and others. Many scientists teach at our University. There are students who are fond of doing research work. After completing a course of five years our graduates can continue their studies and defend thesis (a dissertation).

We have a lot of classrooms, laboratories, a library, a reading-room, an assembly hall, a hostel, two dining-rooms and for those who go in for sports there are good gymnasiums. I am happy that I have entered this University I come to the University with pleasure and enthusiasm.
