1. Make up a protocol of negotiations (minutes of meeting) between the Russian company АО Promtech and the German company CEBIT Gmbh.

Ø The negotiations were held in Moscow within the period from 15 to 20 May, 20__.

Ø The parties discussed the possibility of delivering an assembly line to the Russian Federation.

Ø The technical provisions of the future contract, delivery time and schedules were agreed upon.

Ø The parties have not yet come to a final agreement either on the terms and schedule of payment or on the total amount of the contract.

Ø A further meeting will be held between the parties in Frankfurt from 15 to 20 June, 20__.

 

2. Draw up a MOU between a Russian shipper and a Pakistani buyer on cooperation in gas supply. Give relevant details.

 

 

FOCUS 8. Role play.

1. Discuss the points of your MOM following negotiations stipulated in Focus 7.1.

 

2.Summarize the results of the negotiations held between an Indian company and a Russian company and outline the points of MOU.

Ø The Indian company intends to place an order with the Russian company for civil aircraft.

Ø The parties agree to do their best to sign the contract as soon as possible, removing all possible obstacles that may hinder the agreement.

Ø The parties also discuss the problems of licences, authorization and assistance required.

Ø The parties specify in particular that the fulfilment of the contract will strengthen friendly cooperation between the two companies.


FOCUS 9. Act as an interpreter.

DIALOGUE 1

- Г-н Сингх, протокол переговоров и меморандум о взаимопонимании готовы, и сейчас мой секретарь раздаст документы на подпись участникам переговоров.
- Yes, I see that the documents have been drawn up in compliance with our requirements. All the results have been summarized; the divergence in positions is defined clearly.
- Я надеюсь, что на следующих переговорах мы урегулируем все спорные моменты и дадим исчерпывающие ответы на все вопросы.
- I hope we will be able to finalize the schedule of the contract negotiations in May and the contract will be concluded before long.
- Поскольку наши компании твердо намерены выполнять свои обязательства и устранять любые препятствия на пути достижения договоренности, я уверен, что контракт будет подписан в должные сроки.

DIALOGUE 2

– Pleased to see you, Mr Ivanov. We’re glad you’ve found time to meet in person and discuss our offer in detail.

– We’ve considered your ideas and brainstormed over them. We hope you’re not unhappy with what we have done so far.
– Да, я вижу, все наши предложения учтены. Тогда мы готовы закупить данную модель по новым сниженным ценам.
– Let’s summarise the results of the negotiations and sign the minutes of meeting at the end of negotiations.
– Да, давайте зафиксируем все, что мы достигли в нашем сотрудничестве.
