Think of the things different aviation divisions have in common. Discuss their functions with your partner. Then report back to the class what you discovered.

2 Think back of the historical aviation facts you know. Spend a few minutes planning how you will tell your story. Make a note of your “key” words. Tell your story to the other students.

The story could be about: - the important firsts in aviation history

Work in pairs. Imagine that you are two passengers sitting next to each other on a long flight. Read your role cards below and decide on what you will say. Tell the rest of the students about interesting information you found out.

Student A You are flying to the Aviation international conference. Your partner is a tourist from a foreign country, who is flying back home. Tell him about the past and the present of aviation in your country and ask him about his country. Student B You are a tourist from Germany returning home from Ukraine, which you’ve visited for the first time. Your partner is an ATC from Borispol, who is visiting the Aviation International conference in Bern, Switzerland. Chat with him about the impact of aviation on the national economy.

4 You are going to discuss the role of aviation in economics of your country. Choose one of the following aviation-related branches:

- Agriculture;

- Passenger transportation;

- Cargo transportation;

- Aircraft technology;

- Medicine;

- Air mail;

- Trading;

- other.
