Lead –in:

Ø In the real world, the right thing never happens in the right place and the right time. It is the job of journalists and historians to make it appear that it has (Mark Twain). How can you comment Mark Twain’s statement?

Ø What are your associations with mass media? Make a list of them.

Ø What mass media do you know? Classify them into some groups.

Ø What mass medium appeared first\last? Prove your answer.

Ø Match the picture with the medium, the inventor (or the title) and the date of appearance. In what order were they invented?

 

 

 

· mass media: TV, radio, newspaper (news book), Internet, mobile phones, books.

· inventor: James Clerk Maxwell, Paul Nipkow, Ericsson, the “Diamond Sutra” (the title), the “Weekly News”, The RAND group.

· dates: 1983, 868 A.D., around 1612, early 1910s, 1864, 1884.
