Mr and Mrs Webster: It’s nice to be here.

Greg: What would you like to do this weekend?

Mrs Webster: Oh, I don’t know. It would be nice to see a play or maybe a musical.

Mona: If we can get the tickets.

Greg: That may be a problem, all right. Well, let’s check the paper and see what there is… let’s see, movies are on page 19, section 2, of the Times. Can you check that out, honey?

Mona: Sure.

Greg: Here’s the theatre section of the Voice … Oh, there is a performance of Rigoletto tomorrow night, and they apparently still have tickets.

Mr. Webster: Going to the opera is a little too fancy for me.

Mona: Oh, Dad, you don’t have to dress up any more. You can wear just about anything you want to these days.

Mrs Webster: I’d rather see a musical, I think.

Mona: Well, the movie Annie’s playing not far from here.

Mrs Webster: Mmm, that sounds good. I’ve never seen it.

Mr Webster: But we should see something on stage while we’re here in the city.

Greg: Well, I’ll just call some box offices downtown and see what the ticket situation is.

DIALOGUE

Niсk: I say, Helen, have you got anything special on tomorrow night?

Helen: No, not really. Why?

Niсk: I suggest our going to the theatre.

Helen: I’d love to. What are we going to see?

Niсk: I’ve got two tickets for “Lady Windermere’s Fan” by Oscar Wilde. It’s the first night.

Helen: Oh, it’s at the Maly Theatre, isn’t it?

Niсk: I have heard the play is worth seeing. It is staged very well. The scenery is simple, but good and the acting is splendid.

Helen: And what about the seats? I hope they are not in the balcony or in the gallery?

Niсk: Oh, dear, no. They are in the dress circle, box 5.

Helen: Let’s hope we’ll enjoy ourselves. Will you call for me or shall we meet at the theatre?

Niсk: I’d rather, call for you. I don’t like waiting and you take such a long time to get ready.

Helen: So I do. But I love to look smart when I go to the theatre.

Niсk: All right, then, I’ll call for you at 5.30, so we’ll have plenty of time to get to the theatre before the performance starts.

Helen: That suits me perfectly. I’ll be waiting for you.
