1) What can you tell us about your school?
I live in a small town and go to a comprehensive school. Our school building is of a typical design. The school campus ['kæmpəs] includes the main four-storied building for senior classes with a library, a canteen, 2 gyms, an assembly hall, an adjacent [ə'ʤeɪs(ə)nt] accommodation for junior classes and a sport ground. Unfortunately, not all the classrooms are well-equipped, but our school staff do their best to provide all the pupils with excellent knowledge. The school offers good facilities for class and extra-class activities.
Our school’s aim is to help students to get good elementary knowledge in all subjects, to develop our talents and abilities and to encourage [ɪn'kʌrɪʤ] interest and enthusiasm [ɪn'thju:zɪæz(ə)m] both during and after classes.
The atmosphere in my school is friendly and, I suppose, I will miss my teachers and my classmates after leaving school.
2) Does your school differ from any other school you know?
You can’t see a lot of differences when you look at our school outside or inside. I think it’s not the design that makes our school special. It’s the people who work and study here and our school traditions that make it unique. Our students take part in different competitions and contest and often win diplomas. We have different extra-class activities, performances, flash-mobs and even Eurovision in our school. And what is more important for me most of my friends study here. In such a way our school differs from all other schools.
3) Ask me about my school life.
Did you take part in extra-class activities? Did you win any contest or competition? What school traditions did you have? What school tradition did you like most? Did you join any sports club?
4) What would you advise a British student to do to prepare for an exam well?
I have some tips for myself how to get ready for an exam well. First of all we should find a good place to work – quiet and not messy where it’s possible to revise the most important points of the subject we are going to sit. It helps a lot when we make notes or just write all the key words from the subject. If something is not clear it’s better to ask someone for help. And, of course, it’s not good to leave the revision till the last minute.
I think these simple tips help us sit and pass the exam with flying colours.
5) Today some young people think that having a good education is very important. Do you agree with them?
Yes, I do. I do think education is essential for our life. It is one of the most valuable possessions a man can get. Many famous discoveries would have been impossible if people were not interested in learning something.
Education develops all sides of human personality, reveals his abilities. Besides, it helps a person to understand himself, to choose the right way in this world.
