John and I went into one of the biggest (department store) and spent some (hour) there. There are hundreds of (salesman) and (saleswoman) and dozens of different (department).

We had to buy quite some (thing) and we could get them all in that (shop).

We went from one (department) to another: from (umbrella) to (glove), from (suit) to (shoe), from (sock) to (hat), from (dress) to (bag). In the footwear department I tried on a (pair) of (shoe). They were a bit tight across the (toe). The (shop-assistant) brought me another (pair). They felt well and I bought them.

In this shop it is possible to buy good ready-made (coat), (blouse), (skirt) and other clothes.

I wanted to try on one of these (dress). It seemed to be very nice and quite of the latest (style). This was a (dress) to match my (hair) and (eye). But the (skirt) was too long for me and I asked to shorten it a little. On the whole it suited me well.

We visited the millinery department, too, but I didn’t like any hat. So we bought nothing there.

At the suit department John asked for a dark grey (suit). He tried on several single and double breasted ones. After a (while) we chose a (suit) where both the trousers and the (coat) fitted him well. Then in the haberdashery we bought several (shirt) and (tie) to match the (suit).
