There will be a preliminary analysis carried out here in order to filter the data and to test assumptions. The Cronbach’s Alpha test would be used here to compute the reliability of the research instrument and items. This is a well accepted test of research instrument reliability and it shows whether the research instrument is reliable (Dodge, 2006). Usually, a Cronbach’s Alpha value of above 0.7 is considered good.
The reliability tests on the research variables was carried out using the Cronbach’s Alpha method and the results of the Cronbach’s Alpha test for the IV, DV and mediator of research question 1 is presented below:
· (α= 0.687, n= 2) for Job Crafting (IV)
· (α= 0.926, n=9) for Work Engagement (DV)
· (α= 0.782, n=3) for Organizational Identification (Mediator)
From the analysis above, it is apparent that the Cronbach’s Alpha for all the cases is higher than 0.700. This means that all the variables contained in the research instrument are reliable.
The results of the Cronbach’s Alpha test for the IV, DV and mediator of research question 2 are presented below:
· (α= 0.736, n= 4) for Workload (IV)
· (α= 0.732, n=2) for Turnover (DV)
· (α= 0.878, n=3) for Stress (Mediator)
From the analysis above, the Cronbach’s Alpha for all the cases is higher than 0.700. This means that all the variables contained in the research instrument are reliable.
