Whether you are simply reporting the facts, or presenting them so that they convey a message, you have the following basic types of chart to choose from:

Line graphs, visualization of quantities, plotted a time period, by means of a rising and falling line. Example - sales graph, stock market (фондовая биржа) prices, voting pattering, productive gains.

Bar chart (bar graph) (гистограмма) Visualization of quantities, each one represented by an individual column or bar corresponding in height or length to the amount being counted. These are handy for comparing all kinds of data - sales of widgets (автоприспособления) versus (бытовые приспособления) gadgets, defect totals under various quality management programs, drug reactions in infants versus adults, for example.
