Since the EU’s main goal in 21st century is to take care about environment, the most important step to follow by this goal is to start with energy efficiency in every European city. According to this, all regions and cities in Germany should follow by the new policy of the “Europe 2020”, where the new goals of environmental policy are mentioned in the document.
Following by this, due to the European funding programs, our city department should choose the most appropriate program to develop the energy sector in Bremen City. To this extend, our working group is going to follow by some success examples. The most successful country in the field of energy efficiency in public houses is Sweden.
Sweden’s existing high share of renewable energy will increase even further: by 2020, 50 percent of energy use will be based on renewable energy sources. The initiatives to reach the target of at least 50 percent renewable energy by 2020 include:[1]
- Improvement in the electricity certificate system with an increased level of ambition. The new target for the production of renewable electricity involves of 25 TWh by 2020 compared to the 2002 level.
- Establishment of national planning framework for windpower with a corresponding production capacity of 30 TWh of which be on land and 10 TWh offshore.
- Improvement in the conditions for connecting up renewable electricity production to the national grid.
- Simulation package to promote the development of vehicle biogas.
The aim of our work is take into account some actions from the Sweden’ policy in reduction of energy in public houses. The main target is to renovate public buildings through better energy efficiency and find new techniques.
Due to the new changes in energy sector, the life in the city will have positive output in economic and social life.
