III. Process.

Task

We are interested in travelling to London and are thinking of spending three days there - from Friday to Sunday. The central activity of this trip will be going to the theatre to see a musical show on Saturday evening and it is you who will decide which one we are going to watch. You are going to prepare the trip in pairs so you have to agree on which one is the most interesting.

Besides, you have to look for possible places of interest to visit on Friday and Sunday. And don't forget the accommodation! You have to find out about the price and location of a hostel so that you will come up with a complete guide for a three-day vacation in the capital of England.

Follow these steps:

1. Visit the official sites of different musicals or search for other ones in Google (Example: 'Hairspray musical in London'). Decide which one you like most and compile the information about its plot, save some photographs, check the price of the tickets and find a map with the location of the theatre where it is set.

2. Explore touristic guides and choose three or four interesting places to include them in a tour plan for Friday and Sunday.

3. Look for a hostel (you can search both through the " Hostel Bookers " site and find one by yourself, or go directly to ‘ the Piccadilly Backpackers’). Find out the price, check if there is a special discount for groups, students, etc.

4. Choose the means of transportation to get to London. Find out the price, time; check if there is a special discount for groups, students, etc.

5. Prepare a Power Point, Prezi (www.prezi.com), or Glogster (www.glogster.com) presentation to show your group-mates your own tour plan.

III. Process.

First, you will be dropped in pairs. You will have to work on the task detailed before using the information you are supposed to have by now. In order to prepare your project, follow these steps:

1. ‘Let's go to the theatre!’: This part will be your letter of presentation. You will start by showing the musical you want us to go. Summarize the plot and accompany it with pictures or videos so that you make it attractive enough to persuade your fellows. This first part of the project is very important so try to be creative and original because it will be graded. It is also necessary to include a map with the location of the theatre, the time of the performance and the price of the tickets.

2. ‘Friday and Sunday’: in this part of the presentation you have to display the plan you have prepared for Friday and Sunday. You have to do some research about the sights and places you propose (Example: "On Friday morning, we will go to Portobello Road, a very famous street in the Notting Hill district where the world's largest antique market takes place"). You can both look for cultural places such as museums or propose a tour through the unique pubs and cafes of the city. Use pictures to illustrate your guide and describe the activities and routes you propose in an organized way. Find at least four captivating places (2 per day).

3. ‘Where to stay?’: Following the instructions given in the Task part, decide the place where you want to stay during our special weekend. You have to find out the information about the price for Friday and Saturday nights since we'll be leaving on Sunday. Piccadilly Backpackers is a nice, cheap and central place to stay, but you can also look for a different one. As well as the price, include any special discount we may have and a map showing the location.

4. ‘How to get to London?’: Following the instructions given in the Task part, decide by what means of transportation we will go there. You have to find out the information about the price, the time (as we are to be there on Friday and to leave on Sunday). What city are we leaving from (Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow, etc)?

5. Revision time: Now that everything is done, check the possible grammatical mistakes and make sure that the work is well-organized. Remember that originality and freshness is as important as the information provided.

6. Presentation: Finally, you have to prepare your presentation. Go to Prezi or Glogsterfor an online presentation or use the Power Point programme and exploit your imagination! Once you have your work, you are ready to make an oral presentation to the rest of your group-mates!
