The linear coder forms a 12-digit code combination. The maximum value of a signal is equal quantizing intervals Δ. A quantity of the bits in code combinations depend on the compression in the digital compressor. Immunity from quantization noise remains invariable for m=8 and m=12.

The amplitude response of the digital compressor consist of 8 parts (sectors). A quantizing interval in the sectors 1-2 is identical and different in the over sectors. A segment is a part of amplitude characteristic with identical quantizing interval. Thus, amplitude characteristic contains 8 sectors and 7 segments (because quantizing interval is in sectors 1 and 2 equals to Δ). In each next sector (segment) a quantizing interval in 2 times more than in the previous.
