Gaseous fuels.

Lesson 6 | Water-tube Boilers | After text activity | Lesson 7 | Petrol or gasoline engine | After text activity | Lesson 8 | Flue gas emissions from fossil fuel combustion | After text activity | Lesson 9 |

Fuel gas is any one of a number of fuels that under ordinary conditions are gaseous. Many fuel gases are composed of hydrocarbons (such as methane or propane), hydrogen, carbon monoxide, or mixtures thereof. Such gases are sources of potential heat energy or light energy that can be readily transmitted and distributed through pipes from the point of origin directly to the place of consumption. Fuel gas is contrasted with liquid fuels and from solid fuels, though some fuel gases are liquefied for storage or transport. While their gaseous nature has advantageous, avoiding the difficulty of transporting solid fuel and the dangers of spillage inherent in liquid fuels, it also has limitation. It is possible for a fuel gas to be undetected and collect in certain areas, leading to the risk of a gas explosion. For this reason, deodorizers are added to most fuel gases so that they may be detected by a distinct smell. The most common type of fuel gas in current use is natural gas.

Limited liability company “Ukrainian heat” – the leader of Ukrainian heat and power generation market using coal-water slurry fuel (CWS) technology.

The company has been working in the coal industry for more than 14 years and for the last three years has taken an active part in the replacement program of the expensive fuel sources to the cheaper and more energy efficient ones.

Due to the availability and accessibility of coal resources on the territory of Ukraine, usage of the technology based on the raw coal seems very promising.

In collaboration with research institutes our Company has initiated advanced study on the capabilities of implementation and improving of coal-water slurry technology. As a result, we have developed several types of CWS with different grades. CWS with an optimal composition and characteristics type-approved by Ukrmetrtechstandart institution (TS 20.5-25361733-001:2012).

Research department of the Company conducts the main types of researches and tests on the CWS. Laboratory has all modern technical facilities providing full range of data on CWS’s characteristics.

Our Company pays much attention to cooperation with the world’s leaders of coal-water slurry fuel from China and Russia.

The coal-water fuel technology provided by the company "Ukrainian heat" – it is a systematic approach to the heat generation: from preparation of coal-water slurry fuel, transportation and storage, into its combustion.

Our product – it is heat energy.

Within the framework of collaboration, the company "Ukrainian heat" will re-equip the heat-generating plants into the usage of CWS fuel by own expense.

No capital expenditures will be needed from the client side.

The coal-water fuel – is a mixture of the milled coal (1-50 micrometers), water and reagent. CWS (coal-water slurry) has high combustion level (97-98.5%). The calorific efficiency of CWS – 4050 Kcal per ton. The coal-water fuel is fire-safe and blast-proof.

We use coal-water slurry equipment produced by the leading enterprises of China, Ukraine, Russia, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Sweden.

The coal-water fuel combustion, depending on the scope, can occur both in the specially mounted boilers and on the existing equipment (the burner and the boiler must be re-equipped).

The temperature of the coal-water fuel combustion is 950 – 1100° C. The wastes of the coal-water fuel combustion are highly porous and can be used as raw material in the construction industry. The worked-out air passes through the three-stage purifying system. The rates of emissions to the atmosphere are in conformity with current Ukrainian standards.

The main benefits of the coal-water fuel technology:

- Easy usage in comparison with coal;

- Alternative to natural gas;

- Self-cost reduction of thermal energy;

- Increase profitability of the enterprises;

- Improving the efficiency of heat generation;
