- Are you doing anything tomorrow night?
- No. nothing special. Why?
- I wonder if you’d like to come round for a swim.
- …
- Have you got any plans for the weekend?
- Not as far as I can remember.
- Well, would you like to go skating with us?
-...
- Hi, Kate! I’m glad I bumped into you. We are playing snooker on Friday. D'you want to come?
- Are you? I'd love to...
- Have you got anything fixed up for this evening. Jane?
- Nothing special.
- What about a game of tennis?

Make up dialogues, using the questions to introduce an invitation. Work in pairs.
1. Are you doing anything special on Sunday? (go to the concert)
2. Have you got anything on tomorrow night? (go out to play cricket)
3. What are you doing at the weekend? (play a game of baseball)
4. Have you got any plans for your holidays? (come and spend it with us mountaineering)
5. Are you doing anything on Saturday afternoon? (go roller-skating)
Turn these dialogues into less formal ones.
- Do you feel like going for a drive in the country this afternoon?
- Yes. I’d love to. It's a beautiful day.
- I thought we might go to the South Downs. You get a wonderful view from there.
- That's a good idea.
- Well. I'll call for you at about two. then. Or is that too early?
- No. That’s fine. I’ll be ready.
2.
- Would you like to go to Wimbledon tomorrow? There’s an interesting game there.
- I'd like to but I'm afraid I've got to finish my translation.
- Couldn't you do it some other time?
- No. You see. I promised to finish it by Friday.
